Tour Plan

Day 01: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Distance: Approximately 130 km
Non-Game Viewing Driving Time: 3–4 hours

After breakfast, meet your safari driver-guide and begin your journey from Arusha towards Tarangire National Park. Before departing the city, you will have a brief opportunity to make any last-minute purchases or preparations for your safari.

Continue towards Tarangire, a park famous for its impressive elephant population and iconic baobab trees. During the dry season, the Tarangire River and other water sources attract large concentrations of wildlife, making the park an excellent destination for game viewing.

The park forms part of an important seasonal wildlife movement route, with large numbers of elephants, wildebeest, zebras, and other animals visiting the area at different times of the year.

Enjoy an extensive game drive through the park, taking in its varied landscapes and searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, antelopes, and numerous bird species.

After the game drive, leave the park and proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Located close to Arusha Town and Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha National Park offers a remarkable variety of landscapes and wildlife within a relatively small area.

The park is known for its beautiful black-and-white colobus monkeys, picturesque Momela Lakes, and the impressive Ngurdoto Crater. The crater is approximately 3 km wide and forms an important feature of the park’s volcanic landscape.

Upon arrival, begin with a game drive through the park, exploring its different habitats and looking for wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elephants, warthogs, bushbucks, red duikers, and other species.

You will then enjoy a 2–3-hour guided walking safari, accompanied by an armed park ranger. Walking through the natural environment provides a completely different perspective of the park, allowing you to appreciate its plants, smaller wildlife, tracks, sounds, and landscapes from ground level.

Take a break for lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing your exploration. Later, visit the scenic Momela Lakes and enjoy views of the Ngurdoto Crater before beginning your return journey to Arusha.
